The architect Margarete Schütte-Lihotzky was one of the 15 women imprisoned in the prison on Schiffamtsgasse. In 1980, she produced a sketch from memory of the floor plan of the storey where the 15 female resistance fighters were ‘imprisoned’.

The floor plan is ‘marked out’ on the floor of the exhibition space using adhesive tape. The prisoners’ communication strategy is explored in the courtyard area. What ways did they find to ‘connect’ with one another?

Visitors have the opportunity to get a sense of the situation faced by the 15 female resistance fighters.
