Vienna Women's Week: Making female architectural pioneers visible
Come along and get to know the female pioneers of architecture!
Presentations by the research team will take place at 2 pm and 3 pm.
Women are hardly represented in the history of architecture. However, in the first year of our research project Female Architectural Pioneers we were able to identify over 200 women who aspired to become architects in Vienna at the beginning of the 20th century.
How is it that women are hardly visible in research? Who were the first women in architecture, where did they come from, what challenges and resistance did they face, and what paths did they take?
Our research team will be on site on this day and invites you to get to know some of the female pioneers in architecture better.
