Wien Modern – MARGARETE SCHÜTTE-LIHOTZKY 1 SOUND PIECES
[K]1 ROOM APARTMENT. SOUND PIECES
Following in the footsteps of Viennese architecture pioneer Margarete Schütte-Lihotzky (1897-2000), the two artists Julia Mihály and Maria Huber from the music theater collective “Untere Reklamationsbehörde” invite you to take individual walks through the city of Vienna.
Around their project [K]1 Zimmer Wohnung, which can be experienced during the festival in performances in Margarete Schütte-Lihotzky's former apartment and in a panel discussion at the MAK, the artits have done a lot of research into Margarete Schütte-Lihotzky and social housing in Red Vienna, feminist urban design and alternative forms of housing. They have summarized their findings on an interactive city map, which can be found on the website of Wien Modern, as well as several new audio pieces on the theme, which can be taken for a walk with a cell phone and headphones.
