Visit at the Women's Museum in Hittisau

The team from the MSL Centre recently took a trip to Vorarlberg. The main destination of this excursion was the Women's Museum in Hittisau.

We were welcomed by the director of the museum, Stefania Pitscheider Soraperra, who gave us a guided tour of the museum and the current exhibition "BLITZBLANK! Vom Putzen – innen, außen, überall".

In addition to the important feminist and political content of the exhibition, the MSL Z team was of course also very interested in the integration of a Frankfurt kitchen into the exhibition space.
Some original elements from Frankfurt apartments were on display here - a rarity in the Austrian cultural sector!

We were also able to visit the “Room for Birth and Senses”, a birthing house. The birthing room is based on a concept idea by Anka Dür and was realized in 2020 as part of the exhibition “geburtskultur. vom gebären und geboren werden” on behalf of the Frauenmuseum.
